Gründung / Ideologie
Im Corona-Schuljahr 2020/2021 hat die Schulgemeinschaft eine alte Tradition wieder aufleben lassen und am GAV eine neue Schach-AG gegründet. Schach ist ein faszinierendes Strategiespiel, das mit recht einfachen Regeln erstaunliche Spielvariationen ermöglicht und schon mal den Puls in die Höhe treibt, wenn man merkt, dass eine Strategie Erfolg hat (oder eben auch nicht…. ;). Trotz der einfachen Regeln ist keine Schachpartie wie die andere, und häufig muss man seine Strategien neu überdenken und situativ anpassen. Schach fördert daher in hohem Maße das analytische Denken und die Konzentrationsfähigkeit. Irgendwie gehört zum gymnasialen Kontext der Begabtenförderung folglich auch eine Schach-AG, in der interessierte Schüler einen organisierten Wirkraum bekommen, in dem sie Freude am Schachspiel haben und sich spielstrategisch weiterentwickeln können.
Ausstattung
Ausgestattet ist die Schach-AG mit 16 Turnier-Spielbrettern und Figuren sowie 16 Turnier-Schachuhren.
